Texan-born designer Lela Rose set up her namesake line in 1998 with an aim to create “beautiful, hand-finished clothes that exude casual luxury”. The Parsons graduate most recently dressed bridesmaids for Jenna Bush’s May nuptials at the Bush ranch in Crawford, Texas, and has a capsule bridal collection, available in the UK at Browns Bride.
For her new bridesmaid collection, Rose has veered away from the conventional pastel hues and towards more sophisticated colours like teal, seafoam and royal. Prices will range from around $300 for the short dresses to $450 for full-length gowns, making the range accessible to an array of shoppers and significantly less pricey than her main line. The Dessy Group, a New York-base bridesmaid and special occasion manufacturer with almost 70 years of experience, will distribute the collection in the UK, New York and Chicago this autumn.
